New state–of–the–art MRI machine boosts medical imaging at Saudi German Hospital Dubai
MRI services at Saudi German Hospital Dubai have been boosted with the recent installation of a new 3 Tesla MRI machine (MAGNETOM Vida, Siemens). The extra power of the new machine allows scans to be done at a greater level of detail using the latest imaging technology. Through this high–tech model, the time taken to do scans can be reduced which in turn improves the rate at which MRI scans can be processed and overall treatment times for the patients. The other benefit this contemporary machine offers is the crisp imaging it creates, which will improve diagnosis and patient outcomes.
True 3T productivity
This machine embraces true 3T productivity by addressing the complete workflow, from patient positioning to result distribution.
It comprises established acceleration techniques, branded Turbo Suite Essential, to maximize productivity for all contrasts, orientations, and all routine imaging applications from head to toe. Turbo Suite Essential leverages high-element density coils and unique parallel imaging techniques to deliver routine exams in 10 to 15 minutes. With Turbo Suite Essential, a comprehensive neurological exam, including time-of-flight, can be performed in 10 minutes. Isotropic 3D MSK exams utilize the power of CAIPIRINHA, delivering all clinically relevant contrasts in 10 minutes. With CAIPIRINHA, up to 50% shorter breath holds and high-resolution scans are possible for body imaging.
New clinical capabilities
MAGNETOM Vida brings to everyday clinical practice the most advanced clinical applications for better diagnosis.
For instance, RESOLVE (Readout Segmentation Of Long Variable Echo-trains) delivers high-resolution low-distortion diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for accurate depiction of lesions. Additionally, this technique is largely insensitive to susceptibility effects, providing detailed anatomy-true diffusion imaging for
brain, spine, breast and prostate. In combination with DTI Tractography, RESOLVE enables excellent white-matter tract imaging even in the most challenging areas, such as the cervical spine.
The sequence technique named CAIPIRINHA (Controlled Aliasing In Parallel Imaging Results IN Higher Acceleration can be applied to volumetric 3D imaging e.g. in the abdominal region or musculoskeletal system. This technique enables isotropic 3-dimensional imaging in scan times comparable to conventional 2-dimensional techniques.
The combination of the high magnetic field homogeneity, accelerated imaging, and the BioMatrix Respiratory sensor allows excellent image quality in the body, while ensuring the most patient friendly experience.
And much more!
